I want to be a fireman! 12Jul07 | 2 comments
.
When I was young around the age of 3, I dream of becoming a firefighter. I remember having a story book about a fire engine. I would constantly play the tape that came with it and read loudly along. “Clang, clang, clang goes the bells of the fire engine…” My small face would light up when the sounds came on over the tape player. When my parents or relatives who came to visit asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I unhesitatingly replied “Fireman!”
Those are days long gone along with many other ambitions I’ve filled in my report card at school; soldier, doctor, lawyer, accountant, stock broker and even prime minister once. I left my childhood dreams and I’m now pursuing sounder career path of architecture hoping to be a famous architect one day. The world had spoiled me with its many promises of fame and fortune. A far cry from US Baltimore’s Fire Dept’s motto: “Pride Protecting People”.
As much as I’m still pursuing my studies, God had a different plan when he found me. I was drifting through life headed to the very gates of Hades itself. He saved me through His son Jesus, gave me a purpose and restored my passion. Today, I join a team of dedicated men and women of God fighting to save others from a very different, far deadlier kind of fire.

I want to run a Rescue Shop within a yard of hell.” - C.T. Studd.
What do you wanna be when you grow up? =))
